At the moment when we are feeling at our lowest and may have the toughest time reaching out, we are called upon to plan something special. In all the years I’ve been planning memorials this is something I hear the most. We want to create a space online that captures just a sliver of the whole person we are missing, but we are tired, sad, and in totally unknown territory.

Seven years ago, my uncle died and my life’s purpose changed.

I was a budding Event Planner at the time with a degree in Stage Management and a contacts list full of event vendors.

My mom had “volun-told” me that I was going to be the planner: contacting vendors, organizing speakers, and managing the flow of the day. I imagine my story is not unique.
